New toll price list in Germany. Our product is resistant to the upcoming revolution in transport.
As a result of the EU directive, road tolls in the European Union will depend on CO2 emissions from 2024. Germany is the first country to introduce a new price list. From December 1, 2023, toll cost for 40-ton trucks will increase with 86%.
This means that the cost of road transport, e.g. from Poland to the Netherlands, will increase by at least €100 one way. Our product of intermodal transport using a train between PL/Kąty Wrocławskie and NL/Moerdijk is resistant to upcoming changes.
In addition to the ecological factor, the economic factor will now also speak in favor of switching to intermodal transport.
Schavemaker is an intermodal operator offering door to door transport using various modes of transport. In response to the upcoming changes, Schavemaker Intermodal is increasing the frequency of train connections.
There is an increased interest in combined transport on the market, which is why from Q3 2023 we introduced an additional rail connection between Poland and the Netherlands, already today transporting 120 loads a week in one direction. At the same time, we are ready to introduce the fourth connection from Q4 2023. Thanks to it, we will be able to react quickly to the growing interest in rail transport across Germany.
Now is the right time for shippers to start talking about our solution and avoid a large increase in transport costs in the 2024 budget.
