Unique Volvo FH460 LNG 6×2

In November, Schavemaker took delivery of the unique Volvo FH460 LNG 6×2 vehicle. It is the first refrigerated combi for transporting flowers in the history of our company, and the first of the new generation of Volvo FH.

For our suppliers, Volvo Trucks and Schmitz Cargobull, it was also a pioneering truck, as it was the first vehicle to be built on an LNG-powered chassis. Thermo King units, which in addition to the standard diesel power supply, also have photovoltaic panels mounted on the roof of the cooling unit, ensure the proper temperature of the flowers being transported.

The equipment also includes a BAR taillift. The whole thing is completed by the driver’s cabin in the Globetrotter XL version, which has extensive optional equipment, and a number of systems ensure safety, including a blind spot monitoring camera on the right side of the vehicle. To make the vehicle stand out on the road, apart from the cabin in Schavemaker colors, the superstructure is covered with an advertisement from our client, Floricultura, and the whole is completed with Alcoa Dura Bright aluminum rims.

Rail terminal

Schavemaker utilises the rail terminal in Kąty Wrocławskie, 10 km from the major city of Wrocław in Poland.

A two-year renovation plus investments in a crane and reach stackers was completed in September 2015, creating a state of the art terminal; the most modern inland terminal in Poland. This allowed us to process more trains and ensured plenty of opportunity for growth in numbers and destinations.
